L-Proline

L-Proline is an amino acid, which means that it is one of the elements that compound all proteins. However, there is a protein where L-Proline concentrations are especially high: collagen. This substance is often associated with firm skin and strong nails, but even when it is actually the main responsible for the beauty and healthiness of these tissues, it goes way beyond, reaching all kinds of structures in the body, especially bones, tendons and joints.  

Without L-Proline, we would not be able to synthesize collagen and our connective tissues could not work properly. This leads to weakness, poor skin healing and gum diseases. That’s why it is important to pay attention to its intake through a balanced diet with enough complete proteins that contain all the amino acids, including L-Proline, or supplement it if there are deficiencies.
