    On the banks of some rivers and lakes in the Mazonian forest grows a wild shrub whose fruit, CAMU CAMU, has been traditionally used by the indigenous people of those areas. The CAMU CAMU is a fruit that has been consumed for centuries by the indigenous people of the jungle. Due to its high vitamin C content, it has antioxidant properties and contributes to the vitality of the skin thanks to the formation of collagen. 

     

    Camu camu is a small, reddish fruit with a slightly sour taste. Although the leaves and even the bark of the tree are often used for healing purposes, the most widespread use is of the fruit, thanks mainly to its high vitamin C content.

    From Brazil to Peru, particularly around ox-bow lakes where there is not much current. In Brazil from the Atlantic coast in the state of Pará through the states of Roraima, Amazonas, Rondônia, and to the border with Peru.
