    Tocopheryl acetate is a natural form of Vitamin E, used as a fortifying agent and dietary supplement for Vitamin E in food. It is also the main ingredient of skin care products and dermatological preparations. Tocopheryl acetate in combination with α-tocopherol has been used in the therapy of conditions such as sterility, muscular dystrophy, cardiac vascular disorders and anemia.

    In nature, vitamin E comes in the form of tocopheryl or tocotrienol. Both tocopheryl and tocotrienol have four forms, known as alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. Alpha-tocopheryl is the most active form of vitamin E in humans.

    Alpha-tocopheryl acetate is more stable and this makes it ideal for use in supplements and fortified foods because it has a longer shelf life.
