Menaquinone-4 is a vitamin K, used as a hemostatic agent, and also a adjunctive therapy for the pain of osteoporosis.
Vitamin K2 contributes to bone and cardiovascular health. Therefore, two vitamin K2 homologues, menaquinone-4 (MK-4) and menaquinone-7 (MK-7), have been used as nutrients by the food industry and as nutritional supplements to support bone and cardiovascular health.
It activates a class of proteins known as Gla-proteins and blood clotting. The studies have shown that vitamin K2 (MK-4) might help in fighting against cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. Some other important associated benefits may include maintenance of bone density and prevention of osteoporosis and cardiovascular diseases.
