    Boswellia serrata is a tree native to India, Africa, and the Arabian Peninsula. It is commonly used in the traditional Ayurveda Indian medicine. The sap from Boswellia serrata is sometimes used to make frankincense. 

     

    Boswellia serrata extract has been traditionally used in folk medicine for centuries to treat various chronic inflammatory diseases. Extracts of the Boswellia serrata sap, bark, and other plant parts may be taken orally for therapeutic purposes. Boswellia serrata contains chemicals that decrease swelling and inflammation, and increase the body's immune response. 

     

    People also use Boswellia serrata for osteoarthritis. It is useful in promoting joint mobility and relieving joint pain. It is also used for many other purposes, including to ease symptoms of asthma and diabetes.
